Unconditional Love and Professional Life

Today I participated in a webinar about connecting and closing with ease led by Dr. Ellie Drake.  As a new business owner, I found it helpful to learn how to connect in the sales context, but the more I listened to Ellie, the more I realized that at the core, she was talking about one of my life principles -- living in unconditional love.

How I Connected Unconditional Love
with Achieving Success.

I connected Ellie's training to unconditional love to achieving success in any job or profession based on the following five (5) principles:

(1) To be happy with your life, you have to be authentic, which means requires living in unconditional love.

(2) Living in unconditional love includes how and why you choose a job or profession.

(3) To be successful in that job or profession, you have to connect with your colleagues, managers, staff, clients, and/or customers.

(4) Connecting with others is influenced by the energy you emit, or the intention you have when you communicate with someone.

(5) An intention that emits unconditional love = a positive connection with others = successful results regardless of the outcome.

Why I Found these Principles Challenging in My Professional Life.

At the end of 2006, I made a personal commitment to forgive others for what I then perceived as "bad acts" against me.  I also made a point of expressing gratitude to and for my life, my higher Self and my connection with others.  Despite these changes, I was still challenged with resistance in my profession.

For many years, I applied principles #1 and #2 successfully.  As a manager, I applied principle #3 successfully with my staff, colleagues, and customers, but continued to meet resistance with the difficult and bureaucratic managers for whom I worked.

At first I couldn't figure it out.  Why couldn't I manage difficult or bureaucratic people with more ease?

The answer -- I was not living in unconditional love because to be in that state requires forgiveness and gratitude.  In contrast, I lived in ego, often applied IQ to my work relationships, and held emotional attachment to the outcome of my ideas, suggestions, and work product.

In short, my intention was clouded and the outcome did not match my expectation.

How I Plan to Use Unconditional Love to Achieve Success.

As Ellie was talking during the training about the importance of speaking with intention, remaining grounded, using EQ, and being grateful in the professional context, I made a major mind shift and knew how I could apply unconditional love to my professional life.  Therefore, the following list demonstrates how I connected living in unconditional love with achieving success in my new profession:

(1) I cannot control the actions or decisions of others; I can only control my actions and decisions.  Act with positive intention without attachment to the outcome.

(2) Whenever you become emotional about someone's action or inaction, remember that it is not about you.  It’s about where that person is in his or her personal development.  Decide to forgive and use EQ to show you understand.  What happens next could surprise you.

(3) How you act or react is about where you are in your personal development.  Take responsibility and remain grounded throughout your interactions.

(4) Experiences are not good or bad; right or wrong; successes or failures.  They are learning experiences that help you Become along your life journey.  Be grateful for the experiences and learn from them.

Thank you, Ellie, for that wonderful pearl of wisdom!

Your Partner in Prosperity,

Ria
